A bit about your trainer.
Five years ago, Jacob flew across the world from the UK to Canada, driven by his passion for action sports and a life in the mountains. With a degree in Sport & Exercise Science, Crossfit Level 1 certificate and a history of competing for Great Britain in BMX racing, Jacob brings over a decade of expertise in developing and refining fitness techniques.
“During my BMX days, I always preferred solitary workouts, never considering group fitness classes as beneficial for me. Instead, I opted for personal training. However, after hearing my partner and a friend rave about their experiences at RichLife bootcamp, I decided to give it a shot. At the time, I was consumed with work and lacked the motivation for gym sessions or even snowboarding.
Stepping into that bootcamp class was a humbling experience, to say the least. Being competitive in all facets of life, I assumed the workout would be a breeze for me. Yet, I vividly recall struggling through the warm-up of 100 squats & 100 sit ups, even throwing up outside before completing them. As I watched everyone in the class power through, I was astonished. Despite needing to excuse myself multiple times, I was impressed by the dedication of my partner, friend and everyone that took on that class.
From that moment on, I committed to every session, witnessing significant changes in myself. Bootcamp became my new training regimen, and I've never felt better. The camaraderie among fellow bootcampers pushes and inspires me.“
For over six months, Jacob dedicated himself to leading the Whistler RichLife bootcamp, collaborating closely with his mentor, friend and RichLife owner, Rich Sievewright. However, following a difficult decision from Rich, the chapter of RichLife Whistler came to a close. With Rich's support, Jacob has rebranded the bootcamp series as "Grind Whistler" and is looking forward to strengthening and supporting the Whistler community.
